Question need help headlight assembly removal

so I was taking my headlight out last night, which was no problem, except that when I went to put it back in i closed the light in too tight and broke the piece that holds the wiring harness to the bracket (it was a small yellow clip), And now my headlight wont plug in, I tried taking the plug off the harness and plugging it in manually and than putting it back into place, but it wont close all the way because of the placement of the harness. I ordered the clip, but until then I cant figure out how to make this thing work so that my headlights will work. Please help.. has this ever happened to you? suggesstions?

This happened to me at the bodyshop. My bodyman took off the front inner fender, put the headlight in, plugged the plug in from the wheelwell, got some epoxy, and glued the bracket on. Easy/peasey (for him).
