Does anyone know the specs of these wheels...width and offset? I'm trying to find out what the most aggressive set up that a 996 c2 can have.

 

I am running 19x8.5et 45 and 19x11et52 on my car on Michelin Pilot Super Sports 235/35r19 and 295/30r19. It looks great however because of the offset, it just barely rubs when I hit a hard bump during a sharp turn or if I take speed bumps at 40mph LOL. Rolled the fenders, I think I need to check my alignment because for how much it rubs, a touch more negative camber will negate it all.

That calculator doesn't make any sense to me. If I increase the offset by 5mm, it's telling me tha the outer edge of the wheel will stick out 5mm LESS. From the diagram, it looks like offset indicates the distance between the center of the cross section of the wheel and the point at which the wheel contacts the hub. So, the higher the offset, the further out the wheel contacts the hub and therefore the further out it sticks. Right?

 

The lower the offset the more the wheel will stick out of the fender. So going from a +35 to a +15 will stick out of the fender 20mm more and assuming the size of the wheel is the same for both offsets, will give you 20mm more clearance away from the inner fender wall.

 

He's running turbo offsets on his car. He did a full thread on StanceWorks of how he built this out.

I have seen the car in person at a car meet - and ehh... in my opinion - I definitely would not do it. It looks hacked because of how rolled the fenders are and how the bumper sits along with the rear quarters - and even with that it's still rubbing. Also - can't imagine on the ride quality as he's riding on the inside of his tires.

Now I figured it out. The higher the number, the further the wheel's contact surface is away from the center of the wheel. The further the contact surface is from the center, the closer the wheel will be to the hub and the further it will be from the lip.

 

I am running 19x12 in the rear and my car is lowered. I am not even close to rubbing. The car is is taking up all wheel gap, I am not tucking but, I am sitting right at the top of the tire.

I apologize, I didn't notice the nb in the description. Well my two cents would be don't go that wide on a nb, doesn't look right from the rear. I mean of ur taking it to the track I Def understand but, if its just an around town car then I wouldn't go larger than 10 in the rear

 

Was looking at a set of wheels 19x11 ET42 sounds like that won't work.

 

You'll never know till you try it =) I'm trying to get an aggressive offset under ET40 but I can't seem to find anyone who has done something out of the norm.

 

Please do not turn this into another VWVortex forum. I don't care what people do to their rides normally but too much Euro stretch/poke/pull kills the Porsche image as well as what "some" people buy Porsches for in the first place.

 

As a member of both forums that is not the look I was going for on my Porsche. I am however trying to see if I can make a wheel that I am interested in work.
