tiptronic question

Guys, totally new, and over the weekend, got a 2002 c4s with tiptronic.

An odd thing I noticed was that when i take off from a stop, not flooring it or anything, that it starts in 2nd gear?? Is that right? Is there a setting I'm not aware of?

welcome....that's normal...if you want to start in 1st gear, just change to manual mode & shift with the steering button.

What he said....and even in the D mode, you can hit the down button and it'll switch you over to manual mode for like 8 seconds and it'll automatically convert you back to D mode.

be aware that the electronics assume you are trying to take off fast so it you will need to use the control to get to 2nd or it will stay on 1st till redline

Isn't 1st gear suppose to be redlined all the time?
