Decision??

Trying to decide between a 97' C4S and a 01' C2. This is so hard! Any suggestions? I dont know much about the C4S. How does it compare to the C2 in handling, speed, driveability, comfort, reliability, etc...? Any help at this point would be of great appriciation! Thanks!

Drive them both and decide.

To some the 97 is a purist car(air cooled) however the 01 will be faster and more refined. Be careful with the 97 however, the 993 model is starting to show worn valve guides and typically has the cost of an engine rebuild priced in unless it's been done already(the aftermarket valve guides seem to not wear so easily).

Typically I say get the newest one you can find so I would say the 01, but there are conciderations for a 993(some people love them so much that porsche has modeled the new 997 Carrera on the old body style)

Goodluck,
Corey

I say try to find an 02 you can affford. The improvements over the 01 were worth it. The 4 wheel drive does add some weight and will slow the car and the 993 was slower to begin with.

if you planning daily driving I will say c2 (psm). I was at your point, but I did test drive both. I personal like the 996. Easy to drive and faster (base on stock).

I agree with the group, test drive both and define your needs and wants.
Measure them against your analysis and make the decision.

I was looking for a daily driver and was comftorable, more hp and reliable (not that the 993 is) and decided with the 996.

What ever you choose make sure you have a PPI performed.
