aero wing installed!

Well, I've finally found a wing. Painted and installed. This puts a conclusion to my other thread in my quest for a proper wing for my cab. I have ordered the 3rd brake light cover painted in black to replace the LED 3rd brake light. I've also ordered smoked lamin-x for the wing's 3rd brake light to make its color similar to the smoked taillights.

I'm digging the whole rear end. Nice job. Could you please post where you bought the 3rd brake light cover and the lamin-x? Thx.

Looks absolutely fantastic. The wing is really the final touch to make your 996 stand out. The diffuser adds alot to the look of the rear as well.

Rims look great, what did you do for the black wheel lugs? Paint, powdercoat, or plastic caps?

I've been thinking of getting tinted lamin-x for the front. I currently have the clears and from the way it looks, the lamin-x covers around 99% of the headlights. Pretty good coverage if I get the tinted ones.

And you can definitely see the 2-toned steering wheel I got from you in some of the pics.

I ordered the 3rd brake light cover from Eric Plug Guy. It is on special order and will be painted and shipped out soon. As the shape of the 3rd brake lights on the Aero wing is different, I can't use the smoked LED. Without the use of tinting paint, the only way to closely match the Aero wing's 3rd brake lights to the taillights is to put lamin-x on them. Lamin-x doesn't sell a precut for this particular 3rd brake light but they do sell a sheet and you can cut them to shape. Those sheets come in clear, tinted, smoked, charcoal. Charcoal is too black but I did order a sheet to cover the LED 3rd brake lights under the window but that was before I found out about the 3rd brake light covers. For the Aero 3rd brake light, I went with tinted as the demo on their website shows tinted to be a close match to my taillights. However, if it turns out too light, I can always remove them and get the smoked ones. My lamin-x is currently in transit and will post new pics once I have them installed. You can get them at laminx.com.

I got it from a fellow member of this forum. It is an OEM piece. Hard to come by at a good price. If you can't wait, you can always get a replica from MAShaw.

I went with plastic caps. A couple of sellers on ebay have them.

that Wing is really nice. Do you have a part or model number? Any idea how much it cost at a dealer?
