FVD Brombacher – German Quality Gauge Faces, the differences are day…and night!

Gauge faces are one of the most visible and frequently looked at components in your Porsche. Why skimp on quality? Gauge faces should have clearly visible markings and be easy to read with and without back lighting. Replacement faces should offer similar qualities, but many gauge faces on the market don’t quite make the grade. FVD gauge faces are different. What makes them different you ask? See for yourself.

In the below pictures you will see that the Tiptronic is an FVD Gauge face and the 6 speed gauge face is the competitions.

The daytime difference (the competition):

  • Darker, more yellow appearance
  • Raised orange warning lights, not flush
  • Larger, bolder script than the factory gauges
  • Ruff on the edges (not die cut)

The nighttime difference (the competition):

  • Dark orange script when back lit, unlike the FVD gauges where only the warning lights are back lit
  • Clouded and hazy numerical markings making some numbers appear darker than others
  • Warning lights are skewed

Our gauge faces kits are available in a wider variety of colors and include:
  • Both US (MPH) and ROW (Km/Hr) markings
  • 6 speed and tiptronic formats
  • Fahrenheit and Celsius

FVD gauge faces- the difference is day… and night.

LOL $160 for 5 painted rings. Nice stuff, but the prices are so obscene even billing myself at the rate of a high end lawyer it'd be cheaper to do it myself.

Thanks for your opinions guys. That's what is beautiful about these forums. Your entitled to your opinions.

If I may shed a little light on the vendor's that we deal with in Germany...they are the same one's that make your Porsche's stock parts. The quality is excellent as are your cars.

Sure, it may be out of your particular budget and I respect that. For those who enjoy a quality item and want to install something once we are just what they are looking for. I am not sure if you have checked the prices with other German tuners lately but we are THE most reasonable of them all.

I am not sure about you but I wouldn't want the competition's gauge faces like the ones shown above on my Porsche. If it were apples to apples, the pricing would be suspect but it’s not. In regards to the gauge face rings ours are real aluminum, painted and then clear coated. They are not plastic like many on the market.

Batman 46, we have 45,000 parts online for Porsche. While some are more expensive than others we have many, many options for all budgets. I would like to give you an example if I may. You have a set of mufflers on your car that retail for ~ $ 995.00. Our export mufflers retail for $ 1,021.02, with your 6 speed discount they are $ 969.95. The tips you have are $ 375.00 retail, ours are $ 376.06, with your 6 speed discount they would be $ 357.25.

So while I respect your opinion, rip off prices is not our style. We have the highest quality German parts at extremely reasonable prices.

Thanks in advance for your time.
Rhonda

I agree - you get what you pay for. We all spend 25K+ on our cars and everyone wants to put $2 parts on them. I ran into this when looking for aftermarket deck lid/wing. there is a lot of "cheap" stuff out there but its that - cheap. My biggest concern when looking for a complete deck lid/wing was to make sure it looked like a factory piece not stand out like a cheap aftermarket part.

Just my $0.02

Now that I said that Rhonda will you sell me a set of mufflers for $500

You're not being an a-hole at all, just a bit ignorant . . .

I'm a motorsport design engineer and I am very well exposed to the costs of building parts like these . . . except on open wheel race cars where IMO the quality is higher than OEM porsche.

A set of gauge rings costs a few dollars to make, and these face plates cost VERY little as well. Whether the vendor or the manufacture is the one doing the markup I do now know, but the markup on these things is EXTREME.

I think it's pretty unintelligent to say that just because the car cost a lot everything else should to, and even more so to pay exorbitant prices without using your brain to see if they make sense. Would you pay $8 a gallon for gasoline or $20 for a quart of Mobil just because it was going into a Porsche instead of a Toyota?

I knew I would **** someone off...I'm just saying like it is..They can jackup the price to what ever they want...Don't buy if u think it's 2 much..Somebody would...My ignorant a..s probably buy it.. But that's just me..If it looks good & quality, then yes I would paid that much..

Thanks for all of your responses. I wanted to mention that I have several customers who are splitting these kits.

Our kits come complete as seen below. Take a closer look at what faces they contain. If you have a friend in say Canada that would like kph you can easily give (or sell) them your remaining faces. We have single faces on clearance for voltage and oil. If you have a buddy with a GT3 who want's to change the tach only you can accomodate them. You want to show 200 mph, no worries it's in the kit.

Regarding people that complain about quality parts, I suspect most people on this forum bought their 996 used. If one has the $ to buy new, then there are less negative pricing comments. Just an observation...BTW I did my mine used too and expect to pay higher prices for quality parts for a quality car.

Are 1995 993 versions available in Aluminum or Red?

Are they of the same quality? If so, please send my pricing for a complete set to: bg @ netcapitalbusinessfinance dot com

Please include and separate the cost for you to do the install as well so I have the option.

Rhonda, I tried to PM you but the forum wouldn't let me. I don't have enough posts.

Thanks Rhonda!

Brian
