Hood opening issues

So recently, I have been unable to open my hood with the interior switch or via key fob. It will occasionally open with the interior switch but I can’t rely on that so I have routed the emergency pull wire to come out behind the tow hook cap.

Has anyone experienced this before or possibly something similar? I will be selling it shortly so I would like to have everything situated before it’s up for sale.

I did. I tightened the hood latch bolts because they were loose and that fixed it. Hope that's the same for you. g/l

I'll give it a shot. Also, you can sorta hear the interior switch "working", but not releasing the hood.

Sounds like the same thing - that's what I remember about it and it was frustrating until I looked at the latch and tried to tighten the bolts.

Might have to replace the hood-release if all else fails, sometimes these items just get old and the mech inside fails. Not a big deal, if you were local I'd tell you to bring it by for a free inspection. You can see for yourself if you pull off the service cover and have a buddy flip the switch a couple of times, you should be able to see if you're getting any movement in the mech...
