2002 Facelift Fenders Price

Hello,

I was just curious on what is the price for the two front fenders of a 2002 996. I have a pre-facelift model and wish to upgrade to 2002 and up. I already have the xenon on my car and I was jsut curious to see how much money is involved in doing the facelift ? Would it cost almost the same as if I would sell the car and buy a 2002 ? What is involved other than the fenders, bumper and headlight (I heard about a bar that might too large etc...)

If someone has done this before, I would really appreciate if you can comment on this.

Cheers
Bo

i am in the process of doing this now. new fenders are going to be about 350-375 a piece. i got a quote of 1100 painted for the pair. i am doing the work myself, so i didnt have to pay for labor, but for all the parts i am in about $3500.

your prices may differ depending upon where and who you buy your parts from.
used front bumper: 850
new litronics on ebay: 1250
painted pair of new fenders: 1150
light trays, gas door and hardware for the lights: 250
total=3500

now, i may have to cough up another 350 or so for new light harnesses but i wont know until i actually start taking the car apart

There are two headlight harnesses that you have to buy and they cost $350 each. I can get you just the plugs so that all you have to do is change out the wires. Let me know if any one is interested.

i was quoted by several sources that the harnesses are 350 total, 150 for one 195 for the other. what is the consensus on needing to change harnesses if you already have xenons? also, how difficult is it to wire the new plugs if i need to do that?

The reason that you have to change out the harness is because pre 2002 headlights have diffrent plugs than the newer stlye headlights. So instead of changing out the harnesses wich will set you back $700 for both sides plus labor to install them, you can do just the plugs saving time and money. However Porsche does not sell just the plugs. I can provided the OEM plugs for the update, the same ones that are found on the 2002> headlights.

if you are paying 700 for harnesses you are getting smoked. like i said, everywhere i have priced them out (3 different places) want 350 for harnesses.

how much are you selling your plugs for and how difficult is it to rewire the plugs?

I spent about 7k on my front end change, with a different front bumper of course. The fenders are quite cheap at $350 a side. Its the bixenon litronic headlights, wire harness and front bumper that get you. I have seen used turbo front bumpers go for $500.

No offense guys but I had a 2000 and it looked fine too me. I leave cars the way they are from that generation why be a Poser...leave it alone plus this is going to greatly effect retail value...

Greatly effect the price..... you're correct! I would say that most would be attracted to the facelift if you ask me.... Why don't we just leave them alone all together, no GT3 rockers, wings or bumpers....right? NOT!

Eli an aerokit or rockers is another story then changing fenders...how can you compare add on body parts to actually painting and installing new fenders, as well the pre 2002 cars had there own look just like a 993 did, I dont see people modding 993's too look like early 996's.....Me I would not touch a car like that with a 10 foot stick there are better ways to spend money on a P-Car such as suspension which is a must and possible exhaust upgrade...after that GT3 rockers, nose etc etc...but a headlight update with a fender change...PLEASE...As well RWDrift's car is an entire animal all together he has done a full widebody conversion and it is a showcar...
