Steering wheel removal

I have used the following video to remove my steering wheel off of my 99 996. However, when I went to remove the air bag by loosening the torx screws in the back as indicated by the arrows in the pic attached, the torx 30 bit does not seem to fit. Anyone know what the right type and size the screw head is? Thanks

Oops - I posted too early - a little more fidgeting in there and the T-30 screw worked just fine. Disregard this thread.

Is there a reason why in the video they turn the ignition "ON" and then disconnect the battery?

I don't see any point to it. I just disconnected the battery and then I rotated the steering wheel to straight ahead.

Thanks, that's what I intend to do.
