Pedal Install

I purchased racing pedals for my 99 6-speed and was wondering if anyone had some pointers for the install. I am sure its pretty straight forward but I have searched this forum and rennlist with no DIY for pedal installs. Any help would be great for this weekends project. - Robert

If you have a stubby drill or know someone with a lot of tools who can lend you one it will certainly help get the job done easier.... Take your time with the brake pedal, that one likes to hop-around and will take more time than the others (metal)...

Good Luck,

It is kind-of a PITA as the working space is very tight. I made templates from cardboard so that I could align the new pedals to the mounting pedals and make sure the screws, new pedals, etc., were sitting straight. May want to try that before you start drilling.

Put masking tape on the pedal, then get the pedal cover lined up how you want it, mark the hole with a pencil on the masking tape and then remove the pedal cover and drill away with the pencil mark as your guide.

I used little clamps to hold the brake and clutch covers in place before I drilled anything. This helps you get the top or botton of the pedal covers on these two lined up straight. Then mark and drill and the pedals will line up nice and clean too.

Worked great for me.

Well I am armed with some good information, does the stock pedals just unbolt/screw from the back?

The right angle drill helps a TON.

No sir, you need to perform the work right there, they can be removed only from the upper cluster, trust me, it's not even an option for a job so small...

Use a hole punch for the brake pedal, that will work best.
