Is the window half up or half down

Newbie here. I recently purchased a 99 c2 with 43K on the clock. And, I have my first issue; I think? Took a trip to the grocery store. I made my purchase. I unlocked my vehicle; opened the driver's door; unlocked the front trunk; closed the driver's door; placed the groceries in the trunk; closed the trunk; and to my surprise; the driver's window was half way down. The window's push buttons work just fine; up and down. Is this normal, or am I about to experience my first repair bill:

Did you use the key fob or stick the key in the door?

I have not tried it on my P-car but in BMW's if you hold the button down on the transmitter for a couple secs it will roll the windows down, there is a sequence which rolls down just the drivers window and another to drop all windows and open the sun roof.

In older BMW's that still have keys the same feature could be activated by inserting the key into the door and turning it to the right or left for a few secs.

Not sure, but on my last 996 I think this accidentally happend when I was trying to program my backup key fob and had to do a sequence with the key in the door.

Is it possible any of the above could have happend when you were unlocking the doors? Do you remember at what point the window actually came down?

I used the FOB. I am hoping it is a sequence thing. My MBZ has that feature. I was not paying attention as to when the window actually came down. However, I just went out to the P-car and held the FOB button down for a few seconds. Other than unlocking the door...nada. Thanks for the quick response bavorak.

hmmm, was hoping it was something simple for your sake. Keep an eye on it, if it happens again you may want to ask the local P-car dealer for advise. Somehow I dont see the window motor having a mind of its own. Good Luck!

The owner's manual claims that the windows can be automatically opened using the actual key. The key works, the FOB does not. Perhaps, a weak FOB battery. Go figure. Thanks again.

Wait i am confused, i thought you just used the FOB and held it down and nothing happened but the doors being unlocked. But now the FOB doesn't work?

Explain...

The FOB unlocks/locks the doors, but does not open the window;
The key (inserted) unlocks/locks the doors, and opens the window.
I am guessing a weak signal brought on by a weak battery.

With that said: My initial question (see 1st post) was: Why did I find my window partially open. Apparently, my weak FOB battery had a brief moment of strength. Also, keep in mind that I was not aware of this FOB window open feature.
