Confirmation/affirmation on why a 996
Confirmation/affirmation on why a 996
Well, got rid of my 98 996 C2 last July and as of four months ago or so, been getting the itch again (the fact that I sold my boat at the same time I started to look for a 911 is pure coincidence
). Do have the Cayenne Turbo that does everything extremely well, but at the end of the day, its not a 911
So, please remind/confirm/assure me why I got a 996 in the first place (price into consideration, as where I live, money does not grow on trees
)
Best overall performance from a stock car (braking, acceleration, roadholding, etc. vs. 993, 964, 930, Carrera, SC, etc)
Actual AC that works in hot humid weather (I live in Panama, Central America)
Issues are known: coolant expansion tank, RMS, IMS
As about as "practical daily driver" as its going to get (for me that is 5K miles a year)
So, did I miss something? How about a '02 Lapis blue C2, 17" stock wheels, trip tranny, full leather (dark blue with contrasting light blue stitching {looks better than what it sounds, never seen one like that before}, Bose high end stereo, litronics, parking sensors, 30K miles, for less than $30K (needs all filters/plugs/fluids changed, new tires, new brake pads/rotors, and for some odd reason, neither mirror is working, I think its the $80 switch). All in all, about $2K in parts, labor is cheap here to do it all, what do you think its worth? Never owned a tip 911, thought I would die first before owning one, so never did research on the matter, so how reliable/problematic the trip tranny is? Traffic here is horrible...
Oh, did I mention it would color match perfectly the Cayenne? LOL!
