No longer a virgin

Took my car to the dealer on Tuesday to diagnose a rough running engine. I researched the MAF, o2 sensor and coil packs... but only had time to educate myself.

first time at the dealer...

$1300 later they replaced 5 coil packs, 6 plugs, oil change, topped up fluids, replaced the cover on my seatbelt adjuster, and set tire pressures.

I had visions of 2 large to fix my broken baby... so I figured I got away ok.

oh ya.. an very nice wash and vaccuum too...

Not happy that the car cost me $1300, but happy that the dealer treated me with respect, and I got a car wash.. ;-)

car runs like a champ again..

grin factor back!!

They called me with the diagnoses.. it would not have mattered.. it had to be fixed.

I added an oil change to the work order after they told me the $$ of coil packs, plugs and labour..

Glad to see your baby is a healthy again and you are happy again. I am curious as to why you didn't bring it to an indy vs. the dealership.

thats an easy question to answer

my car is my daily driver..
I have yet to find a trustworthy indy to work on my car. So my only option was to go to the dealer.

on my "to do" list is to find a good indy that can work on my car for sure..

There are some excellent indies in Ottawa. Which end of the city are you in?

(I bought an Audi from MM years ago - and once the warranty was up, I vowed I would *never* set foot on their premises again)

Wow - if you had done all that yourself you would have only paid $450! It would have cost you a Saturday morning as well.

Thats partially true Slider

problem is that I don't have the tools, facility or knowledge to tackle that.

More importantly, a Saturday morning for me would stretch to a whole day, and that is another thing i am short of.. TIME.

I choose to pay the experts to do what they do best, and that gives me the opportunity to do what I do best.

one day..I hope to wrench on my car.. but for the time being.... the dealer or an indie will suffice

regards
