Spent 9 Hours Polishing my Car

I hadn't done this for 3 years (but that was only a thousand miles ago), so I thought I'd be extra thorough.

I removed the front and rear license plates, rear bumperettes, the headlamps and taillights. For a car that's never been driven in the rain, it's amazing how much dust accumulated behind the taillights.

Here are some photos.

Nice

Do house calls? Get tired of East coast weather, invite to do mine on West coast.

Great looking.

Thanks. The color is Lapis Blue. Supposedly one of the most popular 996/997 colors. So much so that Porsche decided at one point to start gouging people $3000 by calling it a special paint or something like that. When I ordered mine, they only ripped me off for an additional $800 or so as a regular metallic paint (I challenge anyone to find any metal flakes in this paint). At the time, Midnight Blue was a special paint that cost $3000 extra.

This is an ultra-high maintenance paint. The slightest bit of dust shows, and it scratches very easily. Luckily, with the right polishes and buffer, the scratches are pretty easy to eliminate.

Hmmm. My wife, daughter and I love California. Do you have access to a private jet?

Yes, and 6200 miles in 9-1/2 years. It's turning into more of a paper weight than a car.

Paint cleaner: Mother's
Synthetic wax: Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket (wipes off very easily with no dust). I applied two coats.

In between the two: Menzerna Final Polish II

For scratch removal: Mezerna Super Intensive Polish

Porter Cable 7424 orbital buffer used for all steps.

I believe this is made for Menzerna USA, correct?

Have you used Klasse and if so, how does the durability compare?

Menzerna FMJ is made in Germany, but no longer available (see link). http://properautocare.com/menzcloseout.html

I never tried Klasse products. Is their sealant synthetic?
