Non - OEM 997 Turbo Rims?

Hi,

I've always loved the 997 turbo rims and found non-OEM rim sets selling for like $800 on e bay. Check em out. Will these fit on my 996? Has anyone put these rims on a 996? What kind of tires will I need? Thoughts? Suggestions? For what it's worth, below is a pic of my current P-car and rims...Thanks!

Honestly, I'd be careful with OEM "Style" rims (=knockoffs). Some of them are made with quite poor quality and will crack after 2 or 3 years. Nothing I would ever put on a Porsche. I would stick with real OEM or known Brands of good quality. Will cost more, but its worth it.
I just recently saw a TÜV-study on knockoffs and the test results were quite amazing: cracked metal spokes and bending.

I would not buy them unless they were OEM

I bought some OEM units on ebay. Supposedly there are two OEM turbo twist rims one of them is solid spoke for the non turbo cars and there is a hollow spoke version that the turbo cars came with that if my memory serves me correct, were reported to weigh 5 pounds less. I got the part numbers for the lighter ones and found some units on ebay that were less than perfect. No chunks, but scraped paint. I had them stripped and powder coated for 300.00. I think I paid 800 for the wheels. They were the wider units for a turbo. I personally think that would be the way to go.

Just wanted to revisit this. I have giovannir
Rims that cost the previous owner about 5k. The rims are scratched now and I hit a curb and bent two of the rims badly. I am going to try and fix them but the first wheel repair guy I went to said they cannot repair the chrome. I think I just need to replace the rims entirely.

Any suggestions for 18 inch rims for a black 996 cabrio 2001. Don't want to spend more than 1500 all in with tires if that is even possible? I know the eBay non oem tinware the wrong way to go.
