Exhaust Question

Hello Everyone,

I have 2002 996 and considering purchasing exhaust. Any words of wisdom on:

1) Manufacturer;
2) New vs. Used.

Thanks in advance.

I have the fabspeed and like it. Bought it used for 50% of the new price. I've never bought a new exhaust since you can get great deals second hand if you are patient.

Or try the FisterD mod...heard great things about that.

I think it depends on what you want. The Fister D muffler modification sounds great - it's not too loud, it has no drone, but it sounds nice and aggressive when you open it up. It's also very economical. I love mine.

If you really want something louder, then you should consider something like Fabspeeds or another aftermarket muffler system. I've also heard good things about Cargraphic mufflers.

I went the Cargraphic route. Bought the 'export' version. Wow, it's loud. Was told it was close to PSE sound without switch of course. I have heard from a few who had the Fabspeed that while it sounded fantastic it was 'too' loud. Each to their own I guess though. I also added the BMC Cold AIr Induction kit and it compliments the mufflers nicely.

You should hear the Tubi Exhaust on the 996. The sounds and performance gains are amazing.

Hey sjporsche, make sure to check out our Maxflo Mufflers and Competition Air intake for your car. I can make you a nice member price on the combo which will really wake the car up in power and sound but still make daily drivable. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Just did the PSE hack. Sounds great, fairly inexpensive, no drone, easy to have done. I am happy with it!

A bit confused here, is it actual Tubi Exhaust or Tubi "Style" Exhaust?

I wish there was a way to get a side by side comparison of all the different types of exhaust... speaking of...has anyone posted a sound clip yet of the fabspeed supercup exhaust for the 996?
