TPC Racing: Did you know a new 3.6 is 17k?

A new 3.8 is 13K... Made sense to us...

Long time client has more track miles than we have ever seen on a street car. At a recent local event the car lost oil pressure(not ims related) and upon further investigation it was decided a new engine was required. Here we have some pictures of the old 3.6 coming out and the new 3.8 getting some pieces/parts moved over.

Will continue updating this thread as we progress... We do have quite a history in hybrid ECUs and look forward to making this a great track car!

Casey, can a 3.8 be put into a non-egas 3.4 car, if the appropriate parts (such as the throttle body) are swapped? If so, how do you deal with the ecu? Thanks.

Why did the original engine lose oil pressure? Was it around a long high speed turn?
Thanks:
Jim Greer

Mark,

I am sure it could be done, however the time/money would be astronomical.

The car had 200+ track days on this engine, running JRZs/bars and slicks. It wasnt from oil starvation(if that is what you are alluding to). The cause of the failure is unknown to me. i will speak with Mike and get a good answer.

Power difference?

I'm wondering what to get when my 3.4 decides to go.

Likely 25whp over the old 3.6

Car is running. Took a quick video which I will update later for proof.

All done. Unfortunately we wont be dyno-ing the car any time soon as this one will receive a proper break in!
