Do this. It will also help keep your Porsche looking good and you can always use it for things it was meant to do.

I did something similiar when I was single and dating, to rule out all the gold diggers out there.

996 trunk dimesnions

27X12 real dimensions taking in cosideration the spare. If I do not consider the spare is 27X20.
Do not know the height of the trunk.

I'll give you my usual Porsche-guy answer. If you have to ask, you're likely not ready. You need to do like most/all of us have done. Visit the dealership, sit in the cars. look in the frunk, evaluate the interior space - then determine if you're ready, and willing, to live with it. When YOU decide it's the right car for you, then make your move. There is NO comparison between a BMW and a Porsche - none. If those are the two you're deciding between, you're too far off. Good luck.

I can do a weeks groceries no problem. If you fold down the rear seats, you use the parcel shelf for further room. I can fit 2 sets of golf clubs back there.

Propane tanks in my trunk

You have the passenger area. All the back seat area plus the trunk. I shop large from Costco in mine with no problem. Now the airport 'alone' would be ok. Two of you, that would be a 'no no'. I would not even consider putting a roof rack on mine. I use a van to the airport.

Now I have guys thinking I'm a sugarmama!

Back to the topic, I agree, if you are concerned get a beater on the side. I also agree with denversteve. You may not be ready just yet.
