Why don't you use the tape provided and fasten it under the dash just above your shin.... I did that... nobody really sees it but I can if I look... easy to reach and change the settings when I feel like it...

Seems like an inelegant solution for a car that cost northward of $100k when new.

Mounted Sprint Booster in Ashtray

Just mount it in the Ash Tray like I did! Totally hidden, ash tray still functions and no premanent modifications. I just drilled a tiny hole in the bottom corner of the ashtray insert and then fished the wire through the tunnel. I had to remove the wire clip to get it through the tiny hole I drilled but that was no problem. I used the double sided tape as well. This way if I ever want to remove it, all I have to do is replace a $20 ash try insert.

Let me ad that Sprint Booster (Varun) are good to their word. I had an issue with my C4, and even though my purchase had gone beyond the 30 day return guarantee, they refunded my money, no questions asked and offered a discount on my next purchase from them. I would not hesitate to recommend Sprint Booster

That's brilliant! I literally just ordered a sprint booster 10 mins ago and was thinking about where I could install the switch so I could easily reach it, whilst keeping it stealth. This is the solution!

Can you please tell me how you fed the wire in there? Did you dismantle the centre console or could you just hide it under the edge where it meets the carpet and then feed it up...

Any help appreciated. Looks great!

In other news....do you like the mod?

Is this increased response safe? I realize it's far different from adding boost, etc, but is, in some way, harming the car a possibility? Somebody had to be the devil's advocate ;-)

Btw - I was referring to the taping of the control unit to the dash, not the use of the Sprint Booster itself.

Hi all,

I last night installed a sprintbooster in my MK tiptronic 996 Carrera.

Whilst I know that the sprintbooster makes no power increases whatsoever, nor does it claim to, you really have to feel it to believe it.

The funny thing is that I am so skeptical about these things, and I think that mine didnt actually start working initially.

When I started the car after installation I took it for a drive and was thinking "this does nothing - those guys on the forums have no idea". I then stopped at a shop, and when I got back in the car and started it up, I flicked it into red mode again, and it was amazing!

The thing you will notice most if you own a tiptronic is that it will kick down into first gear with a much faster response.

In all seriousness - this thing is awesome and makes the car a lot more fun to drive.

My take - get one!

Installation took 15 mins.

I am really interested in this to get better response from my tiptronic trans (I have always had a manual but compromised with the Mrs. this time around)...is there any downside from a mechanical/maintenance standpoint?

I'm also curious how much stress it puts on the parts sprintbooster enhances.

Does the LED dim (how bright is it?)? I hate bright LED's in my face, especially at night!

Has anyone added this to their car after its been tuned or is this more of an alternative to tuning?
