will 2002-2005 headlights plug right into 1999-2001 ?

Or do I need wiring harness?

I hear different things...

buy harness or rewire diagram or straight up plug in.

 

I plugged Xenon's from a 03 996 straight into my 99 996... plug and play, babyeeee!

 

I assume you're doing a facelift on your MK I 996? Are you looking to plug in Litronics, or halogens? Does the MK I have factory Litronics? I think all these questions need to be answered.

I am doing the face lift. I am looking for litronics swap from 99-01 to 02-05 litronics. Not halogens. I do have the factory MKI litronics.

I'm just curious of wire diagram if needed or rewire and such. But Sosoomi1 answered my question.

Thanks. I was confused when people say I gotta buy wiring harness to do the 02' face lift.

 

Thats what they told me too..... *They* said one side would work and the other not.... true enough... one side didn't work.... I bought the harness.... turns out one connector in the car was bad.... replaced it and then it was truly plug n play.... luckily LA Porsche Dismantlers.... they sold me the headlights, tail lights and clear side markers... as well as the harness.... took the harness back....

I hope your install is as slick as mine.... *They* also said not all cars are the same...

First, he sold his old 99 litronics to me

 

i have 99 996 as well..THey currently have halogen head lights with the amber trim..Was told by the porsche dealer that its not possible to fit in the 02 headlights...
Is that true?

 

You have to change the fenders and front bumper in order to do it.

Haha Tarzancoe... that is true... but they plugged right into yours didn't they.... I think we did that in a parking lot.....?

I only did lights..... when I decided to sell the car I wasn't thinking I would recoup my investment so I sold the headlights to Tarzancoe....

 

Originally I wanted to do the facelift mod as well, but the more I look at them, the more I seem to prefer my 99-01 headlights over 02+.
