4 months ago the same vendor was selling the LED's on Amazon for less than $220. Wish I had grabbed some then. The LED's are a big upgrade from the old style with the yellow lenses used on the early model 996's.

I have the smoked oem version like the pic from Zookie. Did not realize there were those vs. old yellow. Yet I need new ones.

Go w/ LEDs. I've had them for over a year, no resistors necessary (MY 2000).

+1

I was hesitant to pick a set up back then... in hindsight, I wished I would've pulled the trigger.

If you go LED then you NEED to upgrade the 3rd brake lights too, otherwise stay OEM.

Hey guys, before I post this in the classifieds I though I'd see if I had any bites from this thread. After much deliberation I'm going to go back to OEM tail lights and was going to see if anyone wanted to swap their darker OEM tail lights for my smoked (light smoked) LED's. The only reason I am switching back is because I have a speed yellow car, and the darker color doesn't look right unless I go with the "blacked out look," which I am not planning on doing. Also I would like my tail lights to match my gray corner lenses. I'm extremely **** about small details, so you get the point..... I will also include a black LED 3rd brake light. So it's essentially the same setup as the pictures that FLY996 posted a few posts up. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
