2000 C4 Battery Help

Folks,
My apologies, I did try to do a search, but wasn't able to find the details for my exact car. I have a 2000 C4 convertable and the Porsche Moll battery is dead and will not take a charge.

Since the car is dead in my garage, I'm not able to take it anywhere, and have thought about changing it myself. Please keep in mind, I'm not very handy, and worried I may be bitting off more than I can chew. I would be grateful if anyone could suggest a direct replacement to the battery I have now, and possibly explain how to replace it? In doing a search, I know there is a hold down plate, etc... Not sure how the battery is held down, and where to unhook it.

I'm grateful for any advice/help, and my apologies to the group if this has been addressed elsewhere and I missed it.

Thanks,

My 04 takes a group size 48. The auto parts store system showed a group size 49. The 49 is a lot longer. It is very easy to change. You might need the radio code if you have a factory radio.
First disconnect the neg termial. Second disconnet the positive. Then remove the one hold down bolt on the passenger side of the battery. Slide the battery toward the passenger side. Remove the vent tube. Now remove the battery by lifting straight up. DO NOT SHUT THE BOOT HOOD!!
Take old battery to the store by a replacement and make sure it has a vent.
Reverse the process putting it back in. Make sure the car start bufore you shut the boot hood.

If you are a member of AAA they will do it for you.... if changing a battery is a challenge, perhaps a membership, if you don't already have one, is a good idea!
