Sport Technos on a 996
Sport Technos on a 996
I am ready for a new look for my Cab and I think I have narrowed down my choices. I currently have turbo look wheels on my car, and have had 19" Champions as well, and want to stick with original Porsche equipment. I have narrowed my choices down to the turbo look II or sport techno. I know that the turbo II wil fit because of the offset, but am not sure about the sport technos. My narrow body 996 has a rear offset of 65mm and the sport technos are listed at 63mm, the other thing is that the rears are 11". According to Gert's site it states that these wheels will fit on all 996 and Turbo & C4S with spacers. I have also seen these wheels listed that state that the wheels will fit on all 996s.
What concerns me is running 295s on 11" rims on a narrow body...won't it rub? Does anyone here have experience with these wheels on a 996...any opinions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

These wheels are made for a narrow body 996, but require spacers when used on the C4S or TT. I had 19"x11" Cargraphics with 295s on my last 996 and no rubbing problems on the rear.
I love the SportTechnos. I think it's a great look for the 996 if you want to stay OEM. I've also seen the inside of the blades painted to match the color of car which looks phenominal.

Should not be a problem - (Famous last words)
I have ordered my 996 C2 (Nov Delivery)
with Sport Technos and the X74 suspension kit (similar ride height as shown in the photo above) and my dealer with the local Porsche mechanics assure me clearance will not be an issue.
I am fairly certain that the US 2004 order guide definetly has the Sport Technos listaed as option for the C2 996 - so I assume the factory would get it right.

sport technos are designed to fit the narrow body car, so u won't have problem at all i think.
btw, Renoir, where do u get the wheel? let me know how much u got quoted from. i picked up my TT not long ago with sport technos. i didn't like them & traded with a shop. they have also few sets in stock in brand new shape. let me know if i can save u some $$
