Convertible top pistons.

After a year of refilling the hydraulic fluid for the car i've narrowed it down to leaky pistons. Anyone ever change them in their car? How hard of a job is it and what am I looking at in cost of parts for left and right pistons?

I did this project last year.

At the dealer, the pistons are around $600 each.

On eBay, bought off a wrecker car, you can score them for $125 a pop. That's the route I took.

The hardest part of the job was figuring out how the rear interior panel comes out. It turns out the answer is 'brute force.'

After that, it's a couple of bolts and disconnecting/reconnecting the hydraulic connectors at the pump. Take a picture before you take stuff apart, and if you don't have fat ape hands like me it'll be an easy job. Do not lose the copper crush washers!

First time, it shouldn't take much more than an hour per side.

I did this project last year had a bad leak in both pistons, thought about buying used but was told will have same result. I found a guy in Sarasota Fl who can rebuild them like new. Not a difficult project

How much did they charge you for the rebuild? I was thinking about taking them apart and rebuilding them myself. Porsche wants $710 each. Found some used ones for $350 each with warranty and another place that will sell me the whole assembly for $450. Not sure what route to go........
