I'm not sure who's doing your PPI but you should also have the car scanned for type 1 and type 2 over-revs.

A C4S at that low of a price seems a bit suspect to me...

Final price on the car will be somewhere around $24k. That's a little more then I had planned on spending, but I still think it's a deal.

PPI was pushed back to Friday, so hopefully everything comes out fine so I can have a Porsche by the weekend!

Thanks for all the tips, and info! Great forum! I find myself visiting this site daily.

Other telltale signs to look for to ensure it's a 4S are the red reflector strip on the rear between the tail lights. It should have red calipers. Also, look in the frunk and you'll see the front differential cover. There won't be a visible spare tire like you find in a C2. In the C4S it's an inflatable spare located beneath the floor panel in the frunk.

Vin

This may be helpful if you still have doubts about the C2/C4 issue. Get the VIN and enter it here:

Good luck with the PPI and enjoy.

????
As Adammich said, don't worry about that Carfax heading. In all of the Carfax reports I looked at before I bought my C4S (I have 6 different reports that I am referencing), the heading always reads "...Porsche 911 Carrera 2S/4S".

Carfax does not appear to be very specific in that respect, as even their report for a 911 40th Anniversary has the same Carrera 2S/4S heading.

Good luck. That's a hell of a price.
