Best after market car alarm for 996??

Looking to buy an aftermarket car alarm for my 911 after one of my other cars was broken into recently..

Any recommendations besides buying a pitbull to guard the car ???

DEI has some good products, such as the Viper and Clifford series. Clifford used to be better before they were bought by DEI, but they still have great products. They also offer many options, so you should be very well covered.

Alarm systems are like locks, they only keep the honest people out! hahaha

Seriously... Be careful removing and/or tinkering with the alarm/immobilizers on these cars. They communicate with the ECU and will cause you a butt-load of problems (i.e. Porsche tax) if you don't know what you're doing. If you're truly serious about car security, then I recommend a tracking device that can be hidden on the car. If you have the money, hire LoJack to install it. My LoJack system was installed at the Porsche dealership. If it gets stolen, the police use a tracking receiver to locate your car. Much better technology than a simple alarm system that can be easily disabled. Check out the story that happened this week....

Bet ya that guy wish he had a tracker on his car. Hope he finds it. But more than likely it's been chopped for parts.
