996TT X50 3.0 MM to 2.5 outlet pipe conversion

Looking for some advice on Exhaust changes.
I have a 76MM or 3.0 outlet on a older GHL sport exhaust.
The current sound is very load to the point where it Bangs my head.
At 2-3K RPM it is unbearable and drony.

So does anyone have any experince with reducing the outlet pipe on any exhaust. I am going to experiment with reduction inserts to the outlet pipe. I have good knowledge of acoustics and have taken training by B&K so not in the dark.

Some sport exhaust systems have an insert that reduces the outlet diameter to reduce the sound, does anyone have this system and what is the difference? ( speed tech I think)

Most sport exhausts that advertise Quite versions are a 2.5 outlet.

I have read the thread on the stock mod of drilling the 1-2" hole and this was very interesting in the reverse way. larger outlet, deeper sound , better flow, more power.

Any discusion on this will be welcomed for sure

My goal with this tread is to gain advice on modifying a cuurent exhaust rather opionon on exhaust options. I have read a huge amount on that.

My car is a 2003 996TT X50 with GHL, sharkwerks tune and dynoed at 502 HP, 523 Tourque, no engine fault codes have been recorded. the car just flys but the everyday drive is not desirable due to the sound level.
