and the MODS continue... EVO intake
and the MODS continue... EVO intake
this thing is nice piece of kit. the main intake tube seems to be of cast aluminum and nicely krinkle coated. it was soo easy to install took about 20 minutes. the roto molded airbox is ok too but i would've been really sweet if it were carbon
.
you get more of a growl from the intake and an absolute wail at WOT. it's spine tingling
. it's worth soooooo much more than the faspeed kit.
i don't know if it's the placebo effect but the intake coupled with the GIAC tuning has given my 996 quite a boost at 4000+ rpms.
i think all the mods are coming together now and working well. time for a dyno run or maybe i should wait till after the 200 cell cats and fvd exhaust
?

I have this new intake installed along with the 996 Flash and they make a very noticable difference.
I have heard all the flames about how "There is no way to improve a 3.6 L 996. It is already maxed out." It's not true.
I feel a noticeable difference in torque, throttle response and sound. Very throaty and powerful sounding. I love it! If you own a 3.6 996, you should have these mods. They are definitely worth the money.

gotta love the sound. it's even better with PSE and i imagine with an aftermarket exhaust as well.

I can feel the difference. I don't need to dyno it. I don't really think it's worth dynoing a car to measure this much HP gain. Evolution Motorsports has tested and dynoed the product to my satisfaction. To see the dyno charts go their web site.

good idea. better yet, i have a scan tool that can double as a performance meter and approximates HP (rolling chassis dyno method not accelerometer based) i just haven't done it yet cause it's on a PC and i am a MAC guy
. i'll break out the PC, wipe off the cobwebs and figure it out. then i will do the same test for stock 996s.
