235x40x18 ON A 7.5" RIM

I just ordered 235x40x18 Dunlop SSR for the fronts of my 2001 C2. The specs show these should be mounted on a rim from 8-10". Will these still work on my 7.5" rim. I also ordered the 265x35x18 for the rears. I'm going to run these on track days as well as on the street until the DE season is over. Thanks.

Ken

I think 235 is too big for 7.5. 225-245 is good for 8".

You can usually successfully stretch an R-compund tire within a half inch from mfgr. spec but we would prefer to see you stay within their range to be sure.
For "everyday" road tires, stay within spec.

nman413 is infamous around these parts
The 235 SSRs run wide. They are pretty much 245s in width. I doubt that the 235s would fit IMO.

As it happens, I have a set of 225 (brand new, stickers still on) for sale (I went with 235s but I have 9 inch rims). Let me know if you want them.
