Anybody know how this happened to my headlight and is there anyway to clean it?

It really is an eye sore for me.

Thanks in advance

Reference the picture, there are to brown what looks to be burn marks on the inside headlamp. I don't know what caused this as I purchase the car with it.

As for the outer lens yes I would also like to know how to clean it up as the yellow haze is also an eye sore.

So to recap two issues: 1. Brown Burn residue inside the lamp & 2. How to restore the exterior headlamp lens.

If you have 100W bulbs in there that could be a reason for the clear browning, they get to hot.

As for the inside, it looks like its definitley an overheating issue..not sure if there is a fix. As for the outside when the OEM UV sacrificial coating starts to fail, it will show signs of yellowing and fine check marks. This is just the OEM coating which has failed and become brittle......and must be addressed before irreversible damage occurs to the polycarbonate lens..

Here is an example of headlight lenses in need of restoral and for this project I chose to remove them from the vehicle.

Headlight lens restoral begins with various steps of resurfacing the polycarbonate. This is done in a very careful manner to avoid heating up or distorting the lens.

After I reapply the UV sacrificial coating, I then cure it with a special UV curing lamp to ensure it has completely dried

Yellowed, blotchy, checked lenses are now recoated and crystal clear once again. This gives the assurance that the polycarbonate lens has a permanent UV barrier once again.

EliminatorXP, I refurbed my headlights a few weekends ago with the 3M kit. They look great, but I know that I took the UV film off. I've been unable to find a UV coating to reapply to the headlights. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!

You would have to open the headlight to access the interior. Bad deal. I ended up getting new ones.
