Anyone know if one can order factory shop manuals? Or find one? Or a copy of one?

I bought a workshop manual for my 996 on CD-Rom from www.workshopmanuals.co.uk Not too bad for $20. No affiliation, just a customer.

 

Those manuals are incomplete and has the website imprinted on every page. I have the complete and updated 996 workhsop manuals for the 996 from 99 thru 2004 including updates and wiring diagrams for each year and a few annual techniks and I also have availalble the OBDII manauls, Technical manual and diagnostic manual. I alo have the current dealer PET update 186.

 

Porschelibrary, is the set available to the public and how much is it?

On a side note, I've been using Alldata.com with reasonable success. I suspect that it is similar to the CD mentioned and has similar limitations, but it's more reasonable than the ~$2000 most dealers want for the full set.

 

I have the full set plus the OBDII manual, Diagnostic manual, Technical manual ( TSBs up thru 11/2004) wiring diagrams for 99,2000,2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004, and a few Technick too. Yes they are available to the public. Email me and we can discuss.

 

that cd you get also has errors in the adobe publishing. I open one group and then I cannot go back to the main.
