Question X51 owners chime in

Can you folks tell me at what RPM your cams "shift"? I was playing the other day and it seems that the cams shift (sounds like the engine shifts gears) at about 6000 rpms. But doesn't this sound a bit too high especially when the rpm limit is around 7k rpms?

Can X51 owners tell me when their car shifts cams?

Mine shift around 3200 rpm. It is like a turbo kicking in.

Ditto, its like a freight train when it kicks in around 3k. Also its quite loud at 6-7k so I can't tell any difference

Does this occur on all variocam (or any non-x51) motors? In my car, around that same rpm level, it feels like it hits a spike in power if i'm very slowly rolling on throttle. When I am on it hard, all bets are off and I'm not paying too close attention anyways ;-)
