Cranking problem. Spent $180 on a new battery thinking battery is going bad.
I have experienced cranking issues for the past 2 months. The car sounds like has a hard time starting. I put the battery on a maintainer and it didn't fix the problem even though maintainer showed green light as the battery being fully charged. Today I spent close to $200 on a new battery hoping that it would resolve the issue. It has the same problem with the new battery.
Could the starter be going bad? Sometimes it sounds like there is not enough juice in the battery as the starter has a hard time cranking and starting. When you turn the ignition, starter turns/sounds really slow but eventually the car starts up.
Any suggestions.
Thanks a lot.

Check the battery cables and wiring harness to starter and you might need to get the starter tested.
Friend of mine had a bad wire going to the starter and had same slow cranking symptoms.

when hot my car/starter labored (cranked slowly). I completely checked out the car's electronics. No shorts, no excessive stater draw etc. The battery was the weakest link, so I replaced it. Problem went away only to reappear. So, I replaced the starter. Problem fixed,.
