FYI your radio won't lose station presets just from disconnecting battery. After reconnecting just enter the radio code and all presets are still there.

Figured i'd just keep this alive instead of starting a new thread.

I bought the generic walmart scanner and cleared the code (not sure if i mentioned this). I have gotten it twice in the last 3 months or so, with the latest case coming just this past weekend. I cleared it again. I bought a new cap when i got the first p0442, my question is this: is there any problematic affects from driving with the minor leak? If it's not the gas cap? What's the fix (i've read about smoke testing???)? I want to make sure this car lasts, but at the same time don't want to pay the $200/hr porsche fee for something that really doesn't matter. OK, $60/hr for an independent, but still.

Any thoughts suggestions would be appreciated.
