Talking Vinyl wrap on 2001 Cab

Well, finally picked up the car from SS Customs. They did a custom matte vinyl wrap on my 2001 Cab which turned out very nice. Now a wrap is not going to be the same as a paint job of course but it looks pretty darn good. I was able to select a new color wrap which is Matte Silver Metallic so it has some shine to it in the sun. It matches well with the Artic Silver factory color so the jambs are not too noticeable (since I did not wrap those). I like the fact that the wrap protects my factory paint while giving me an option to go with a custom color not easy to do in paint anyways = matte.

Shareef at SS Customs was a pleasure to work with. He really believes in customer service and making sure the project meets expectations. Even some of the touch ups I requested during the process he had no problems taking care of for me. Highly recommend Shareef!

So, here are some pics I took. Might I also add I am very happy with the body kit as well... Extreme Dimensions front bumper, Better Bodies side skirts, and GT3TEK rear skirt and wing (all in polyurethane except the wing which of course if fiberglass!)

The rims are what came on the car when I bought it... plan to swap them out for a set of ForgeStar F14 in Matte Black.

Was also thinking about adding a set of dual stripes like the 997 GTS has in Matte black... any opinions on that?

David

Very nice, David. Looks unique without being ostentatious. I think the lobster claws look okay, but agree that black wheels will probably look better.

Car looks great! I couldn't really tell from the pictures, but it seems like you don't have mesh in those grill openings on the front bumper. I've got a similar front bumper with the mesh and it keeps all kinds of trash and leaves from getting sucked up. And I would recommend painting the rear bumperettes. That would really update the rear of your car.

Thanks guys! It is still a work in progress.... I do plan to put some grills in the front bumper just have not gotten around to it yet. My issue on the rear bumperettes is that the wrap would have to be multi-piece and the seams would be pretty noticeable. I thought it better to keep them black which matches the diffusor section. As for price, I was given a special price since my car was used as a demo for SS Customs so hopefully he chimes in on what is would cost normally.

I hope so as well, I am very interested in doing my cab! Saving up to get it all done at once, wheels, body parts, and wrap all at once. It will be like a whole new car just like yours turned out.

Lower it... now that is funny. I am planning on getting coilovers but you would not believe how bad the scraping already is with that front spoiler at stock height! LOL

No idea honestly... I had this professionally done by a shop called SS Customs. I think there is another guy on the forums doing this himself (Drknight?) that might mention how much material they used.
