Clutch Recommendations?
Clutch Recommendations?
Time to do a Clutch and Light Weight Flywheel. So I like to do the best possible. I have a 99C4T (1999 Carerra 4 Vivid Racing Turbo @487HP).
I have the 3.4L but need to know if the 3.6L Clutch may work?
I need a Clutch Kit that can handle 500-600HP and has unbelievable holding power. I prefer Stage 3-4+ clutches, which are designed for Heavy Street uses or Race Track use. My Turbo really puts a clutch to use!
What Light Weight Flywheel should I do?
What Aggressive Clutch should I do?

The recommendation from reputable shops such as F6I and LNE say DO NOT DO a LWFW and race clutch unless you do a harmonic crank pulley and have the entire rotational mass (crankshaft, fw, etc.) dynamically balanced out of the engine.
The dampening properties of the dual mass flywheel are very important to prevent damage to the drive train components.
Edit: the above recommendation is for a 996 NA M96 platform. Not sure what the recommendation is for the TT platform.

I spoke to www.horsepowerfreaks.com and they had poor comments about Spec Clutches. They recommended the Sachs SRE Clutch Line, which I selected. Rated for over 500 ft/lbs of Torque and designed for Drag Racing and Autocross.

I have a Spec stage 2 clutch in my garage waiting to go in tomorrow. It's not good for 450+ hp, but I will be able to tell you in a week or two if the product itself works.
Overall it *looks* like a quality product, but I'll know more once it's finally installed.
