Mechanic in Northern VA

I want to take my car in to get it all checked out (97K) miles but don't want to get it done at the dealership. Should I take it to a performance auto shop to have it checked out or can anyone recommend a guy in Northern, VA who they would use?

I don't know why I don't do google searches first, maybe because I'm hoping that someone has had a good experience. Anyway, I found this place right near me http://www.imamotorsport.net/index.html and they look pretty decent.

Has anyone ever used this shop?

I called and scheduled an appointment and they said they could check the car out and charge 1hr of labor = $119.

That seems reasonable to me for some piece of mind.

I've been going to IMA for over 4 years, ever since they moved to their Chantilly location which is only a couple of miles from me.
Ivan will treat you right.

IMA Motorsport (Ivan) has been servicing my car for about two years now, and has done minor mods, I trust him with it and has done great work!

+1, They rebuilt my Tranny this summer and replaced the IMS bearing, so far so good.
