Muffler tip

I purchased my car a couple of months ago and really enjoying it. I am not too fond of the sound though and it is a bit loud for my taste. I am guessing it is due to the tech art tips? Please see attached pics and let me know. If the sound is due to the tips, is it easy/hard to remove? are these installed over OEM equipment?

If it's too loud, you probably have aftermarket mufflers or sport cats. Can you post images of the mufflers and cats?

Your cats appear to be stock, but I can't see the mufflers. I'm guessing that's your issue...

Dennis - so you don't think the tech art tips would cause an increased sound. The sound is not too loud but bit louder than a friend's 996 with OEM equipment

I would expect that the TechArt tips are there because the exhaust system has been modified, but I'm not sure. You may just have the tips. I wouldn't expect tips alone to change the sound.

If you have stock cats then it's your muffler for sure. If you're looking for the factory 3.4 mufflers, I may have a set soon.

No tips will increase a sound over stock ones. Only Mufflers will alter the sound, high flow cats and headers. All seem to be stock from your photos. Try to take a photo of the mufflers which are located between rear wheels and your tips. Generally speaking.

Also like to add if your mufflers and/or headers are indeed stock, you could have an exhaust leak somewhere or your mufflers internal packing might be old and worn out. BTW, do you have a stock intake system on your car?

Yes, the intake is stock. Will post pics of the muffler.
