My Porsche Centre said it needed a few shims to fit but otherwise was ok.

Wikipedia is often times incorrect as information can be contributed by anyone and corrected by anyone. Not a 100% reliable source of info.

Option code #220 for MY 1999 was a factory option LSD. I had it on my 1999 C2.

This is a stupid question, but are the option codes listed on the car some where?
If so where? lol

MadeinPorsche, your question is not stupid at all. The option codes for your car are on a decal, underneath the front hood, near the center.

Well, I have the LSD (option 220) on my 98. The Wiki article may still be correct since the LSD did not come on all Carreras as it was an option. However, it is not very clear.

Or jackup the rear and spin one side of the wheel and see if the other spins the same way or opposite.

The 99 cars don't have the PSM but had optional LSD and ABD (whatever that does) Wikipedia updated...

I found this old thread.

I have a 2003 996 C2.

Factory Authenticity sheet does not have limited slip differential.

Am I correct in assuming that the car does not have limited slip?

Suggestions on adding?

I recently had an incident in my 99 C2 without an LSD and PSM where I had to swerve to avoid hitting a wood box coming out of a turn on the highway and I ended up spinning out and thankfully didn't hit the semis behind me. When the 997 and 991 in front of me both swerved the same way and they tod me PSM kicked in for them. Now I worry that I don't have PSM. I love how raw my car is and im installing an LSD in it but its dangerous without PSM in a way I had never experienced
