Grease kind of material on all wheels (Techart)
Grease kind of material on all wheels (Techart)
I have noticed that recently my Techart wheels have some kind of grease film on them. I don't have the OEM pads and replaced them few years back with dust free pads. They are not easy to clean up, I have to use WD40 on a rag and it takes some time to get them off. They are more apparent on the front wheels than the rear ones.
Just wanted some advice/suggestions on possible causes before taking the car to the shop.
Thanks a lot.

Brake dust and road grime is my best guess.
No pads are "dust free"--some just dust less than others and/or make dust which is less noticeable. Throw that in with road muck, diesel exhaust and other crud and you get a nasty film to clean off wheels, and the rest of the car.
I've heard that cleaning your wheels thoroughly, then treating them with RejeX will help make future cleanings much easier. I plan to try this but have not done so yet.
