A couple of friends i know had to trim fenders to fit 19" wheels.
Personally i think 996 is designed for 18" wheels, i would not compromise my ride comfort and add more weight unless i was a serious tracker....

I wouldn't use 19s on the track due to the additional weight and stresses on the suspension.

For the street, there are people running 19s. It can be done, but I'm not sure about those sizes. Perhaps somebody with 19s will chime in.

I believe NB offset for stock rear wheel is 65 at least that was what my 18" were. I went to 19"/10" 56 offset with car lowered an inch and works fine, no clearance issues at all.

Thanks for the comments, the car would not be tracked, just street use. Finding other than OEM 18"'s is harder than I thought under $5,000! Most seem to be 19" variants.

I want to run 19's as well but i have a c4 and i am a bit concerned about the effects of the larger rim and lowering a c4. Do you have c2 or c4?

I have an '01 C2. I know there are a million wheel posts but fitment should be fairly straightforward right?

2001 C2 with 19's

I have a 01 996 C2 and I think the 19's look great. I don't know the offset, but the car does ride nicely. I have Pss9's and they are set mid range.

remember guys... that running a larger wheel has nothing the way it fits. the overall diameter and offset of the wheel must be right on.

19's on 99 NB

I have 19x8.5 and 19x 10 on my car no problem at all. H&R springs too.... Fairly low. I don't have the offsets on hand but a quick glance at Tirerack.com should give you all the info you need.

It has definitely degraded the handling characteristics as compared to the 18's I had on it before.... but since this is a weekend cuising car for me..... the degradation was worth it to have the look I wanted.

Which of the Asanti wheels are they? They make some really nice ones I think.
