I have an 01 Carrera 4 (3.4l 300hp) and Im debating saying screw the sound sytem that im doing next week and putting those 4000 towars a SC. I have extended warranty for another year, so I dont know if this will void it and I should do it when the warranty ends. But regardless of that I need someone who has experince with this to tell me if its worth it or not, and also take into account reliability. According to the EVOMS website I will get I think somewhere around 420hp. which I think should give me something like Turbo performance (Non X-50 of course). I like the fact that its all wheel drive so It will be easier to handle all this power. What do you guys think?

I bought my car from porsche dealer and I dont know if it has engine work already because it feels very quick and it peels out a lot off the line and its all wheel drive. With PSM off, if you start off the line it peels out a lot. And off the line if you turn the wheel to either side the car just rotates 360 degrees various times without really moving and Im not really dumping the clutch im just acelerating to like 3500 rpm when I take out the clutch. i tried a stock 00 c2 and It wouldnt peel out or do this and its rear wheel drive. I dont know if it maybe wasnt broken in correctly or somehting. Does a stock car do this?

 

Ohh and the car does a whinning noise like if it had turbos the best description is it sounds like a jet it goes wheeeee wheeee when you are accelerating with the windows up, could this be because of the gemballa wing or is this normal in all 3.4 engines?

Are you saying it might already have a supercharger and you are not sure?
I thinks you should know, but why don't you post a pic, or look on the web site of evo, or do a search on this site and you will see plenty of pics to compare to.

sounds like a s/c to me.. or alot of engine noise from your stereo..
If you don't have a s/c, I definately recommend it and plus you won't even want to listen to the stereo because the s/c will be music to your ears. Since I got my car back from EVO I dont listen to the radio anymore. Evo has done extensive testing supercharging the 3.4l motor. I believe they put over 30k miles on their 99 C4 test car which they claim they beat the hell out of. Their car actually had higher boost levels (producing over 450hp) than the kit they sell to accelerate the life of the motor and it still runs strong. Whether you are in traffic or open road the car will behave and drive as smoothe as it did stock. These guys are the KING of supercharging!!
