Slight OT - anyone drive smaller SUV's?

I've had a Ford Escape for a couple of weeks while I had a new driveway put in. Not bad ('05) for what I expected, but very basic.

Anyone drive anything like this?

Lexus RX330
Ford Escape
Volvo XC90
Toyota 4Runner
Jeep

And care to comment? Looking for a parts-hauler with some nice features that does not cost stupid money. RX is my top choice, but not for 40-large.

Thanks for input.

I personally drive a 1996 4runner with 130k on the clock. Runs the exact same way as when I picked her up with 80k. Love it! I sell Volvo's for a living and think the XC90 is a great SUV. It's built on the S80 platform and drives much like a car. If you have kids there are tons of cool features geared toward them. Plus the safety is hard to beat.

My wife has a Toyota Highlander LTD, one step down from the RX 330 within the Toyota lineup. Smooth ride, drives nice, no complaints.

Just bought an 05 Pathfinder LE... Picked it over the 4runner even though I have owned two before. The 6 has the same power as the 8 in the 4runner 270HP. My is fully loaded and it came in around 36K MSRP... Has the same nav, steering wheel and many other things that my FX45 had...

Have about 4K on it an love it... It is like a small Armada/QX56...

Oh and the tire pressures sensors work... I had 2 flats already!!!

Have RX 330 now at 36,000+ miles, great car, no problems, base with premium package can be had for 38000+/-. Had an RX300 for 80,000+ miles also no problem. If you have no problem with used either one certified would IMHO be a great deal.

I have a 2001 RX300 and a 2004 Ford Escape. Both are great trucks, but service for the Escape is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the Lexus and pennies compared to the Porsche. If you are looking for a beater that will be cheap to take care of go for the Escape. I have not had any problems with the car (with 20k miles) despite Fords repuatation.
