Great question and I think the answer is YES. I ordered a range of LED's (which look great and so much better btw) and installed them last night and surprise a Check Engine Light came on today. I added two parking/city light LEDS from HIDconcepts bax9s bayonet base and they are clean white. I had added DRL LED's and all was fine last week. I replaced the side markers with LED cool white, and replaced the interior dome and two bottom door lights in blue. So, the parking were reportedly canbus (error) free but the others did not say. I have to go back one set at a time to see which are throwing the error. I understand that adding a 'resistor' in the line should clear it up but haven't got there yet. The car looks 10 years newer with the mod but can't live with a CEL on the dash.
