I am new to this forum, just bought the 03' Carrera. The rims is Kinesis K18R, isn't it look horrible on my car? Should I get a bigger rim like at least 19" on it? This car is tiptonic cause my wife can't drive stick. What do you recommend the first thing to have the car upgrade little more horse power. I know supercharger is awsome but quite expensive hehe. This is my first porsche, I don't know why once I drove it, just love it very much!. I also live in Los Angeles area, may be one day we can meet up together and crusing around hehe.

My last question is since the rim is 18', should I lower the car like an inch? What name brand of the spring kits is good for carrera?

Does any good accessories store or custom modifications in LA area?

Ceddy, welcome to 6speed!!

You car looks sweet.

Ditto what Joe said. Wait for the coils. If you buy springs, you will likely end up buying the coilovers anyways which means you would have wasted your money on the springs and spent more in the process.

18s or 19s is entirely personal. I personally like the look of 19s even with the rougher ride.

Joe are you eating and typing at the same time? This makes absolutely no sense, although I do know what you were trying to say. LOL!

Hi Joe,

I don't know much about these stuffs, very new to me.
So you don't suggest to change the springs and get a set of coilovers? What is coilovers? I gotta look for it, does it cost way less than 4 springs?

Thanks for the info.
I am learning hehehe.

Regards

Hi JNRSM3,

I think I will like the 19' I like the rough ride hahahaha. My wife loves it too, can you believe that. I need to do more research on what is a coilovers hahaha. Please don't laugh at me.

I heard the wheels HRE is little heavy, is that right? What do you think of my kinesis rims? Are they so so or good rims?

Regards
CEDDY

I think your wheels look just fine. The gray centers match your car well. You should drop it first before upgrading to 19s. I'm sure you'll like your wheels more when the car is dropped.

If you are looking for a light wheel, HRE wouldn't be the lightest, however, they are very high quality wheels. Great look, great construction, but not cheap.

Coilovers are NOT cheaper than springs, in fact it is many times the cost of springs. IMO, it's well worth it. You can adjust the height of your car as well as the dampening so that you can dial in your ride to your own specifications.

The Kinesis rims look excellent, an aerokit should compliment your beautiful car as well as coil overs, after all that, if you think you need wheels, go for it.

Where are you from? Your english is atrotious, yet not offensive. hehehe

Also if you have a larger picture, can you please post that too?

A coilover is an automobile suspension device. It consists of a shock absorber with a coil spring encircling it. This provides for optimal damping without torsional loads. Many coilovers are adjustable for ride height as well using a simple threaded perch similar to a nut. Note that coilovers are not the same as struts - the former are not designed as wheel-location devices, while the latter are integral to this function.

of course i didn't write that, too wordy for me... here is my way!

Coil overs

Hi 20C4S,

How much would it cost me to get 4 of them. Since my rims are 18", I think if I lower it, it will looks little nicer, don't you think so?
Any recommendation for name brand coil overs?

Regards
Ceddy

The wheels look gorgeous, especially on GREY! You just need to lower the car with some PSS9. I have the K18s with PSS9...it transformed the look once they were on. Welcome and congrats!

Ceddy,
Congrats on the new car. The rims look great don't change them. IMO side skirts and a rear wing for the looks. I hear the coilovers are the best but I have not done them.
