What do you think??
Is it worth it? Do you recommend any other steering wheels for a 996?
Thanks in advance!

Here's what I think: Spending $1000+ on a steering wheel is a waste of money.
Having said that, I have both a MOMO MOD 78 (smaller) and a MOD 07 (larger) in suede. After driving around with both, I feel the MOD 78 is a bit too thin for my taste and will stick with the MOD 07.
The combination of MOD 07, Porsche hub, and MOMO quick release adapter ran me exactly $400.
Of course if you are one of those people who needs to have an airbag in your car, or doesn't want to go through the trouble of relocating your horn, or soldering in an airbag resistor, then I say just keep your OEM steering wheel.
By the way, I'm from San Diego too.

I replaced my steering wheel, brake lever and shift ****; simply because the ones that were on there were a little worn. Replacing the steering wheel is easy and there is a very detailed DIY PDF file that will walk you through it. However, I did not like the look of the alcantara steering wheel with the standard airbag so now I am having my airbag done the same as the steering wheel.
I bought my 996 used and the steering wheel was worn pretty bad. I looked for another and found prices ranging from $300-$900. I went with WheelSkins and spent $50 for a leather cover cut to fit.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the advice. I suppose it was just a want not a need and so the season passed & off to the next upgrade. hehe.
Any suggestions on SSK? or Wheels/rims? I'm looking at either the 997 TT rims or rims by Forgestar. Any advice on that?
@thankswww: Where in SD? Lets meet.
Thanks again folks.

Yeah I've been thinking on getting a new sw also but I've heard that alcantara leather might get ruin if you have oil or hand lotion, wouldn't you agree? Did you send your old one back to them and got fully refund for the part?
