Tire pressure, sizes and brands for the 996
Actually, doesn't depend on NB or WB, but what your rims are. That said, if it has 265/35-18, then you don't have the optional CII 18", where the rears are 285/30, because you couldn't fit 265s on them if you wanted, so your tire sizes are correct. Agree, first question is year round or just fair weather? Plan to drive in snow? PS2s or Super Sports are fair weather only, above freezing, even if there isn't snow on roads. In fact the S-04s are also that way. If plenty of tread on the fronts, just get new S-04s for the rear, really great tire. Pilot Sport A/S+ are great all season tires unless you plan on driving through inches of snow, (have them on my Cooper Clubman S) then you need dedicated snow tires.
My Dad is a tech at Goodyear 30+ years - two diff sizes - and I have the Pilots which are wicked expensive and LOUD. I thought I had a hub bearing problem on my hands when I bought her (I have a similar car btw 2001 c4 cab w hard top)
Thanks. So you didn't like the Pilots for sound. Are you recommending the Goodyear for sound?
Curious as to which Pilot's you had this issue with as there are different types. Also if you still have them, can you look on your sidewall to see the DOT numbers which indicates the manufacturing date?
They are Pilot Sport DOT P389. They still had the whiskers when I got it. I hate them - but but Dear old Dad said they are a good tire for the car and I'll admit it handles like nothing I have had b4. But that may just be the P car/road I'm on at the time, conditions. So I'll keep them - turn the stereo up. They seem to be the loudest at 50-65 - oh well ~~~~;} I def wouldn't put them on again
I have gone with Micheline PS2's over and over again. I keep waiting for them to make the Piliot Super Sport in the right size for my rears as I have heard really good things about the PSS. You may want to see if the PSS is available in your sizes, but I don't think you can go wrong with teh PS2 (except for the price).

Could be - but nt 2 likely - the camber toe etc was all correct and they have >500 miles on them. I will def pick up a softer summer tire when I find rims I like and stick w the aggressive tire/wheel combo for winter. The list grows longer of what I'd like everyday. Today it's LED's in the tail lights lol. I should have stuck w my 1k shoes
