Spec 996 - Florida
Spec 996 - Florida
Looking to start racing and I have been considering spec 996. I live in florida and was wondering....
1) if there is a good number of 996 spec cars racing here (no fun racing alone) 2) cost of building one not including the car
3) who in Florida should I use to build one
4) if I were to run the car in its spec set up which class would it fall into with scca, pboc and NASA.
Thanks

Not sure where you are in your journey, but if you're just starting out, check out PCA driver education events at Homestead, Daytona, Sebring, Palm Beach. It's not "racing" per se, but you can get 'er going at a proper race facility in a controlled progression. I can also recommend Skip Barber Racing 3 day schools for earning your SCCA Regional Competition License. After that, your ambitions are only constrained by fear, money, and time!
I've been doing de's with pca, pboc, chin and erme for the past 3 years. i run super solo and advanced. I'm also a pca instructor. I have a lot to learn but I'm loving every miunte of it and looking forward to the next stage. Nothing like bishops bend at 125mph! I have a bunch of videos on youtube. If you are interested search alonbarzkay.
