Desperately Need Help!!!!!

Installed the aluminum gauge covers from FVD and used the f*ing super glue that came with it only to have made a mess on two of the rings. What did you use to clean up the SG mess? I made the mistake of using this **** before reading the posts about silicone! Will acetone work or should I just use warm/soapy water? I've also heard of using rubbing alcohol. I'm worried that the acetone will damage the clear plastic faces of the gauges. I also have finger print stains on two of the rings so what would you recommend using to smooth them out???? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The answer is in the question: rubbing alcohol. You have nothing to lose at this point. Start with the finger prints, and go from there. P.S. Use a microfiber cloth. Good luck.

If rubbing alcohol doesn't work, I'd switch to Bourbon! Sounds frustating but in the other thread that was ressurected today, the OP said Armor all worked. Not sure about that but you are right about the plastic gauge cover. The wrong stuff will make it cloudy so I would test on the most inconspicuous spot.

if all fails....try using light grit sand paper & sand it down to give that brush aluminum look..(assuming that the rings are made out of aluminum).....G/L

Depending on what you use, it might scratch or eat into the plastic slightly. You can fix these areas with Meguires Plastic X or Plastic polishes.

Btw, I have some aluminum rings I've decided to not use for sale if anyone's interested.

Superglue damage is usually permanent. Try Acetone and if that doesn't work, start over. Unless the part is solid aluminum you won't clean it up.
