KW coilovers V1 or V3?

So after doing a large amount of research, I decided to buy coilovers from KW. I am an aggressive street driver and would like to track the car 1 or 2x a year. Spoke to KW and to Mike at vivid racing and now I don't know if I should buy the variant 1 or the variant 3. Of course the 3's are better for track settings, but this car is my daily driver, so I'm afraid to the 3's being too stiff on ride. I wonder how much dampening I can adjust for comfort on my daily commute, and the stiffen if/when I go to the track. $1300 difference between the v1's and v3's.

Well all I can say is ride comfort is subjective to the driver. If your only going to track 1-2 times a year is the extra money worth it? Would you be ok with the stiffer ride on an everyday basis?
Unfortunatly only you can answer those questions.

I daily drive my mkI with V3s sitting very low with the setting set to the recommended one from Variant. Actually I believe I have them turned one notch stiffer. Anyways, they are the best all around coilovers I've rode on.
I also found mine for 2600 shipped new

Thank you. I wish someone could review the v1 vs the v3. The rep at kw recommended the v1 for me but vivid racing recommended the v3 for their versatility. Not sure if I need it, but no one had reviewed the v1s

Check with some of the vendors on the board, The best quote I got was from a few of the group buys that were going on, how ever I just purchased mine a couple days back and got a great deal on ebay thanks to heads up from trenddy996... I also went for the V3's, what i've been wanting for years, never even considered the V1's

I went with the V1s. The reality is that I'm not going to be adjusting my shock settings on a regular basis. The settings for the V3 from the factory are essentially what the V1s are. If anything I might prefer to soften the ride a little when I'm in town on the V1s. The people that go with the V3's generally make very small changes to the stock settings. My guess is that they really don't need to change anything and are just doing it so they can justify the purchase of V3s.
